  • For an overview of the Open Studios Tour (OST), click HERE.
  • 12:00 noon to 5:30 p.m. - Open Studios Tour, Day 1, the part at the NAA Gallery (location #7), will be an opportunity to see at least 1 artwork by each of the artists involved in the OST. Tom Stryker's group will also perform from noon to 2:00 p.m.
    • 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. - Tom Stryker's Impromptu Band will perform on the plaza outside NAA Gallery on the first day of the Open Studios Tour.

     
  • 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m. - Open Studios Tour, Day 1, the part at the Bliss Mansion (location #3), will include two performances, 7 OST artists, a food truck, and a tour of the Bliss Mansion. Bring your own lawn chairs.
    • 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. - Niall McGuinness & the New World Jazz Project at Bliss Mansion during Day 1 of the Open Studios Tour.
    • 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. - Take This at Bliss Mansion during Day 1 of the Open Studios Tour.

     
  • 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. - Craig, Terri, and Friends perform on the McFadden Stage.
  • 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. - Open Mic, hosted by Canyon White, at A to Zen Thrift and Studio.
  • 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. - The Act performs at the Bank Saloon.


Tom Stryker's Impromptu Band at the NAA Gallery

Enjoy the jazz stylings of Impromptu, led by jazz harmonica player Tom Stryker. Tom began his musical journey in San Francisco and has performed extensively in the U.S. and Asia. He began playing professionally with world-famous "Harmonica Rascal" Johnny Puleo, and went on to perform as a soloist and with symphonies, harmonica trios, and jazz bands. He has appeared on television and radio shows as well as the World Harmonica Championships in 1980s as the lead player with Harmonica Express quartet, and began playing jazz in San Jose, CA, nightclubs. He has served as President of SPAH (Society for the Preservation and Advancement of the Harmonica). Impromptu will perform with Tom Stryker on chromatic harmonica, Jimmy Vermilion on keyboard and vocals, Neil Strocchio on drums, and Marcy Benner on vocals.



Niall McGuinness & the New World Jazz Project
at the Bliss Mansion

Soul, Latin, and world jazz music is played genuinely, straight ahead, and right down the middle by the New World Jazz Project. Redirecting the art of jazz, the band lays down groove-oriented original compositions and soulfully arranged modern classics, from Afro-jazz to adult contemporary, bebop, and beyond. Musicians are Niall McGuinness, saxophones, flute and percussion; Tristan Selzler, piano; Scot Marshall, bass; Tony Cataldo, guitar and trumpet; and Mark Scholl, drums.

Cherie & John's "Take This" Band at the Bliss Mansion Mansion

Cherie and John Shipley are a dynamic entertainment act in the Reno/Lake Tahoe area. Their keys, vocals, and, side musicians present an impressive array of musical styles and grooves, with jazz predominant. Along with their music, they engage the audience with personality-plus! Many of the tunes are their own arrangements, customized for a fresh listening experience. Band members are Cherie Shipley, vocals; John Shipley, keyboards; Nat Kline, sax and flute; Mark McKinnon, guitar; Mike Kirkhouse, guitar and bass; Zach Howarth, drums.



Craig, Teri, and Friends Entertain at McFadden Plaza

Craig Fletcher and Teri Campillo have been entertaining together for the past 21 years. CraigÕs 50 years of musicianship are displayed in the wide variety of music they perform from funk to standards, jazz, R&B, rock and reggae..as well as many originals. They are known to please almost any audience and keep them dancing the night away!

The group will also appear on the McFadden Stage during the festival on Friday, August 5.

Singer-songwriter Canyon White hosts up to 25 open mic performers every Friday at A to Zen.
