The Sagebrush Rebels will perform from 2:30 to 4:00, prior to the performance by Lacy J. Dalton with Dale Poune & Bruce Thompson at A Day at Silver Saddle Ranch, Sunday, Aug. 15, 2021, 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. Additional presentations will be by Craig Swope on the history of the Silver Saddle Ranch and cowboy poetry by Larry Marinel.
“If you’re gonna play Nevada, you gotta have a fiddle in the band!” A take-off from a great Alabama country tune, the Sagebrush Rebels band presents memorable, fun, country-western favorites, and yes, with a fiddle in the band. Five of the seven members are vocalists – the harmonies are fat and the repertoire ranges from classics to contemporary country hits. You’re gonna need boots when the Sagebrush Rebels deliver their deep, rich talents. This is not their first year at Jazz & Beyond. They also perform in Genoa for the Summer Concert Series and Annual Western Heritage Days, at the Village Green Park in Reno for Artown, and at Living the Good Life in Carson City. Musicians are Cherie Shipley, bandleader and lead vocalist; Nancy Barker, keys; JR Johnston, bass; Mark McKinnon, guitar; Catherine Matovich, fiddle; Tommy Stiles, pedal steel; and Bill Heise, drums.
We do not provide seating for events at McFadden Plaza, Laxalt Plaza (south of the Carson Nugget), the Capital Amphitheater/Legislative Plaza area, or the Silver Saddle Ranch, so we encourage you to bring your own seating (e.g., lawn chair) to events at these locations.
