Live-streamed event with Josh D. Reed – 9/1
The Jazz & Beyond Music and Art Festival presents the Josh D. Reed Quartet in a live-streamed event on Tues., Sept. 1, 2020, at 7:00 p.m. PST. The group features Josh D. Reed on trumpet, Dave Strawn on guitar, Miguel Jimenez-Cruz on drums, and Zachary Teran on bass. Following this live-streamed event, Josh will be heading to Denver the following week to record this music with David King from the Bad Plus. The event will be available for later viewing after the live-streamed event.
This is a new iteration of the Josh D. Reed Quartet based in Reno. They are mostly focusing on music that is inspiring to Dr. Reed but not coming out of the jazz tradition. While the tunes aren’t traditional jazz songs, they are still great works of art that the quartet will be putting their own spin on. They will be performing music by Radiohead, Nirvana, Wilco, Sunny Day Real Estate, Elliot Smith, and a few others.
