Afternoon at the Ranch-ette – Sun. 9/20
The Afternoon at the Ranch-ette* is Sunday, Sept. 20, 2020, 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Entertainment by Sagebrush Rebels. Visitors will be limited to about 35 audience members, per government coronavirus restrictions.
“If you’re gonna play Nevada, you gotta have a fiddle in the band!” A take-off from a great Alabama country tune, the Sagebrush Rebels band presents memorable, fun, country-western favorites, and yes, with a fiddle in the band. Five of the seven members are vocalists – the harmonies are fat and the repertoire ranges from classics to contemporary country hits. You’re gonna need boots when the Sagebrush Rebels deliver their deep, rich talents. This is their fifth year at Jazz & Beyond. They also perform in Genoa for the Summer Concert Series and Annual Western Heritage Days, at the Village Green Park in Reno for Artown, and at Living the Good Life in Carson City. Musicians are Cherie Shipley, bandleader and lead vocalist; Nancy Barker, keys; JR Johnston, bass; Mark McKinnon, guitar; Loli Jones, fiddle; Tommy Stiles, pedal steel; and Bill Heise, drums. (Personnel subject to change.)
Pre-registration is required, and visitors must bring their own chairs. Masks are required. Food and drink will not be sold or distributed to the audience at the event, but people may bring their own picnics. Call 775-883-4154 between 10 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. to register. Registration begins Aug. 12 at 10:00 a.m. and ends at 9:00 p.m. on Sept. 19.
*NOTE: This event was originally going planned as “A Day at the Silver Saddle Ranch.” Per coronavirus restrictions, the Carson City Parks Dept. and the Governor’s Office would not allow the event to happen at the Silver Saddle Ranch. The new event will be in front of a small audience and live-streamed at facebook.com/jazzcarsoncity. We encourage you to call 775-883-4154 if you want to attend the live portion of this event.
