Jazz & Beyond, in cooperation with Carson City Classic Cinema Club and the Brewery Arts Center, presents the 1956 classic film High Society in a drive-in movie setting at the Brewery Arts Center. It will be presented two nights: Wed., Aug. 19, and Thurs., Aug. 20. The movie is free, but reservations are required and are issued on a first-come, first-served basis. Reservations will not be taken before Aug. 10 at 2:00 p.m. Vehicles will be assigned parking spots based upon size of vehicles and profile. There is no limit to the number of occupants per car. In keeping with guidelines for social distancing, movie goers must stay with their vehicles. No food trucks will be present. The sound is transmitted via radio signal on 107.5 FM to your car radio or a portable radio.
High Society is a romantic musical comedy film, with music and lyrics by Cole Porter, starring Bing Crosby, Grace Kelly, and Frank Sinatra. Also in the cast is Louis Armstrong and His Band, Celeste Holm, and John Lund. The film is a musical remake of the 1940 film The Philadelphia Story which starred Katharine Hepburn. Commentary on the film will be presented by Robin Holabird, former Nevada Film Commissioner.
The parking lot will open at 7:30 p.m., introductions and commentary will be presented about 8:30, and the show will start around 8:45 p.m.

You must register your vehicle prior to the event. We have a limit of 35 cars per movie showing.
- Call 775-883-4154 to register. Registration begins Aug. 12 at 10:00 a.m. and ends by 1:00 p.m. on the day of the show.
- Call between 10:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. any day of the week. Be prepared to indicate which show you plan to attend (Aug. 19 or Aug. 20), your name, a phone number, the make & model of your car, the number you expect in your party, and your email address.
- If more than 35 cars are registered, you may be put on a waiting list. Vehicles that have not arrived by 8:00 p.m. may be considered “no shows” and their spots may be assigned to vehicles on the waiting list.
- Rules at the event: No smoking or vaping. Wear a mask except when in your car. You may leave your car, but you must stay beside it and observe 6-foot social distancing. Restrooms are available in the Performance Hall building.
