The Red Tango with dance instruction and performance by
Victoria and Zak (VZtango) - Saturday 8/12/2023 - 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. - Brewery
Arts Center Ballroom
The Red Tango was formed in 2015 during a long carpool ride returning from performing
with an out-of-state orchestra. Founding members Olga Archdekin, Catherine Matovich, and
Bruce McBeth began dreaming of an ideal music situation. Soon they were talking of drinking
red wine while playing tangos. And doing that locally!
From mansions in Tahoe to international fundraisers, The Red Tango brings many a smile
and groove to their shows. When dancers began showing up, at first they were baffled.
These classically trained musicians are used to audiences of a more immobile kind. Thanks to
the kind guidance of great tango dancers, such as Victoria and Zack (pictured), the Red Tango began
incorporating more traditional songs along with their other sizzling arrangements. Victoria and Zack will
there to instruct, demonstrate, and perform.
If you would like The Red Tango at your event, be it a bay mitzvah or a 40-year
anniversary, they are ready, willing and able. They can play ANYTHING. Contact either
Olga or Catherine.
The Red Tango Performers are Olga Archdekin, Alison Harvey - violins, Catherine Matovich - viola,
Milena Albrecht - cello, and Joe McKenna, bass.

Victoria Randlett and T.S. "Zak" Brown (VZ Tango) have been dancing together for
more than 18 years. They currently teach at the Ballroom of Reno, where they also host
regular Milongas. Their approach emphasizes technique, connection, flow and musicality.
Victoria and Zak are also accomplished DJs and students of Tango music and history. Victoria
is also an accomplished Jazz and Ballroom dancer, Pilates and yoga instructor, and former
Geography professor. Zak is a professional photographer, filmmaker, and videographer.
