Saturday, Aug. 19, 2017 – Multi-talented entertainer Colin Ross performs in the Depot at the Nevada State Railroad Museum.
Colin is a player, folks, and no two performances are ever the same. An artist to the core; he just lets it fly – enchanting audiences of all ages and backgrounds. He mixes free-style piano technique with rollicking blues and boogie, liquid guitar and wry lyrics. Colin’s own easy brand of Americana invites everyone to enter the timeless zone and satisfaction of good solid music – refreshing the soul and motivating the heart.
No one leaves a Colin Ross show without being amazed and entertained. Winner of the American Masterpiece Grant, Colin has dazzled audiences for 35 years in Portland, Seattle, L.A., and Reno-Tahoe. His shows feature a tremendous variety of original music combined with a fashionable blend of vintage jazz, blues, and Americana styles.
With a lifelong passion for piano and songwriting, Colin’s musical roots are as true as his childhood on the banks of the Mississippi. Combining influences and fascination with everything from from Bach to Woody Guthrie to the Grateful Dead, Colin smoothly preserves and creates legends at the same moment.
In addition to my regular gigs at the Grand Sierra Resort / Charlie Palmers Steakhouse Lounge; I am continuing my work as Artist in Residence for Renown Hospital, Reno, NV. for the Renown Foundation. I am privileged to play bedside in the Nephrology Oncology and Pediatric wards, as well as performing for the Skilled Nursing and many other Assisted Living Facilities. I am working on my next original Musical Theater production “The Girl Who Spoke with Animals”. It will be performed by the Truckee Meadows Community College Children’s Theater Program in the fall of 2017. It is the sequel successful 2016 “The Boy Who Spoke with Animals” which will be reprised for Artown this year.
